1. Name of the activity

           Weather Forecast 


2. Description

¨ Draft First is written by students and then revised by the teacher. 

¨ Students revise their first draft of weather forecast and Draft 2 is checked out by the teacher.

¨ Students are told to bring and use any props and posters which can be used during their weather forecast and they are also given some time to practice their forecast.

¨ Demonstration time is given to students to improve their speaking abilities.


 3. Language focus/aims

         ¨ Vocabulary which can be mainly taught or pay attentioned to

             ☼ Relevant words about weather, inclucind temperature description, adjectives, etc.)

       ☼ Words about direction  

¨ Grammar which can be used or focused on in this activity 

        The weather is going to be snowy/rainy/sunny/windy…

        It will rain/snow…in + PLACE

        Remember to…. (imperative sentences)

        ☼ The difficulties of the sentence patterns used in the speech can be modified according to the language levels of students.

¨ Skills that can be built through the activity

         ☼ Linguistic Intelligence, including speaking as well as writing can be polished and improved.   

         ☼ Spatial Intelligence that is used to describe the map of a region or the route of typhoon can also be made use of in the speech of their weather forecast.

      Other teaching albums 
           For some students with low levels, simpler sentence patterns 
           can be provided with them. What the teacher has to do is to 
           keep encouraging their students to speak out especially in public.
